Job Description

Advanced Metal Industries Co. (AMIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee and Cristal. Tasnee, signed a joint venture agreement with Japans Toho Titanium Company in January 2014 to build the SAR 1.6 billion project. The titanium sponge project is the regions first of its type to produce 15,600 tons of pure titanium. The company has sent 69 Saudi engineers to train for two years in Japan on producing pure titanium. An exciting opportunity is available for Manager, Production, based in Jizan who will reports directly to the GM, Slagger Site. Summary:

  • Oversees and directs daily production and operations in the Smelter site. Including production and manufacturing, maintenance support, operational safety and regulatory compliance, under direction of the plant general manager or manager. Directs development of production work schedules to meet internal goals and customer expectations.
In this role, you will be responsible of:
  1. Process Efficiency: - Assume responsibility for meeting production and quality targets by adhering to production- and maintenance schedules. Attend to breakdowns whilst maintaining set production targets. Ensure the optimal use of available resources, both people and equipment. Assume responsibility for the quality of work conducted within the functional area. Conduct trouble-shooting in order to identify root cause for substandard operating conditions. Ensure all relevant process documentation and records are maintained and kept safe. Compile reports as required to a suitable standard with the ability to describe complex processes adequately. Set up clear communication structures within his own department as well as cross functional. Support own direct reports in mastering and maintaining the processes effectively.
  2. Business Improvement: - Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to cost saving opportunities whilst keeping abreast of new developments within the specialist field. Liaise with other departments toward evaluating new technologies to improve process capabilities, product quality and throughput requirements. Conduct research work in order to initiate process changes and benchmark best practices.
  3. Effective People Management: - Optimize teamwork and staffs by motivating and empowering them. Lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices. Promote cross functional teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates. Participate/oversee in all recruitment and HR related activities of reporting staff. Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the General Manager (direct superior). Support own direct reports to establish and maintain sound labour relations within the guidelines of the labour law.
  4. Safe and Healthy Work Environment: - Develop, maintain and improve safe operational- and engineering standards and continuously review specifications and schedules. Ensure equipment integrity is maintained according to safety standards. Participate in development and Maintenance of Safety systems, aligned with AMIC safety standards, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment registers, ISO 14000 9000 and 18001 systems where applicable. Manage and control quality of raw materials and products. Conduct timeous investigation of incidents and ensure adequate remedial action is implemented. Execute and drive safety programs by coaching and observing people on the job. Ensure effective risk management by identifying hazardous activities and mitigation measures on a continuous basis.
  5. Budget and Cost Control: - Prepare, submit and control the Production Department annual budget by forecasting operational costs and monitor expenditure on a monthly basis. Focus on advancements in production, equipment and related processes in order to assess production unit cost reduction potential.
  6. Customer and Supplier Relationship: Liaise with Logistics Department regarding customer satisfaction and maintain a high customer satisfaction index (98%). Adapt to changing customer requirements and respond to technical aspects of customer queries. Monitor suppliers of consumables and raw material product quality standards through set methods and promote supplier relations on technical aspects.
  7. Community involvement: Participate in community development and related activities as and when required.
Minimum Qualification and Experience: . 17 years heavy industry experience in the Pyro-metallurgical process of which 10 years at senior level experience is desirable with Masters or Post Graduate qualification in a specific discipline or MBA. Knowledge & Skills Required:
