Job Description

  • Collect and organize library materials, including books, journals, newspapers, magazines, maps, films, audio recordings, and electronic resources.
  • Provide reference assistance to library users, helping them find the information they need.
  • Teach library users how to use the librarys resources, including its catalog, databases, and online resources.
  • Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
  • Manage library staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee the librarys budget.
  • Promote the library to the community.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in library science (MLS) from an accredited program.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems.
  • Proficiency in using library databases and electronic resources.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
Additional qualifications and skills that would be beneficial for this role include familiarity with Library software systems, cataloging standards, digital repositories, and academic Library experience.
