About this role:

• Review and approve the work assignment plan, design engineering scheduling and monitoring plan developed by the managers to ensure alignment with the engineering objectives and the Company initiatives assigned
• Lead the engineering team and hold responsibilities for the decisions on the engineering designs, authorities and projects to be completed to ensure that the standards and specifications meet the Company set plans
• Oversee the progress of all projects to ensure effective engineering team execution of the different phases in compliance with the contracts and projects
• Direct and report the managerial concerns of the project such as the project budget and its allocation to ensure project execution within the required time to the Engineering Department Manager
• Lead project teams whenever needed to ensure the resolution of discipline issues in a timely and effective
• Verify and manage contractual requirement and design inputs for design work
• Assign responsible design work like deliverable and activities to each Engineer and distribute necessary information to execute his design engineering work
• Guide the engineering team and help make decisions on the engineering designs, authorities and projects in a timely and effectively to be completed to ensure the design output will meet project and Company set objectives
• Supervise and train assigned engineers and give them necessary instructions
• Evaluate and select engineering subcontractors for the project in accordance with the Engineering Execution Plan
• Coordination with other disciplines, client, vendors and engineering subcontractors to ensure design engineering work and output will meet the project objectives
• Guide the engineering team to prepare material requisition to vendor, evaluating vendor proposal technically and selecting vendor, verifying vendors document and inspecting engineered equipment by vendors
• Guide the engineering team to prepare BQ (Bill of Material), support construction department for evaluating construction subcontractor, execute Field Engineering, loop test and function test at Project site
• Visit vendors to monitor and coordinate with them to avoid delay of design information and equipment delivery
• Provide direct and/or in-direct support for troubleshooting of rotating equipment during installation, commissioning and start-up on site
• Act as a design reviewer in accordance with department managers instruction for the project he is not involved in
• Attend and monitor vendor shop inspection and test
• Act as a field engineer during construction and commissioning stage for the project in accordance with instruction by Department Manager
• Possess broad level of knowledge, skill & attitude for preparation of general specification, datasheet, requisition, technical bid evaluation and vendor document review for pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, turbines and diesel engines
• Preparation of project execution plan and ensure compliance during project execution
• Engineering sub-contractor management to ensure product quality to comply project requirement
• Project close-out report preparation and presenting the overall evaluation and analysis to dept members.

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
• 10 to 15 years and above experience in Engineering Execution in EPC industrial projects or Oil and Gas preferably in the GCC
• Project Lesson Learnt preparation and follow PDCA cycle
• Identify the interface issues and raise it to dept management level for improvement
• Follow dept annual action plan in assigned project wherever necessary.
