Job Description

Job Purpose: We are looking to hireLead Designer ? Piping (Rig Building Engineering), who will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Develop designs such as plot plans, equipment layouts, piping plans, 3D Model with overall assistance of Senior / Lead Engineer.
  • Develop 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Develop P&IDs.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships: Key Accountabilities:
  • Activity and deliverable planning, scheduling, and monitoring along with Senior / Lead Engineer.
  • Involve in Bid Engineering i.e., bid estimation for man hours and materials.
  • Distribution, monitoring and checking of the work of assigned team.
  • Reviews for overall completeness, general safety, access and egress, materials handling, maintenance, and operability etc.
  • Perform inter-disciplinary checks.
  • Ensure schedule compliance of Design deliverables i.e., drawings, isometrics, MTO support details etc.
  • Input to Material Requisition, allocation, and reconciliation of materials.
  • Review and comment on Supplier drawings.
  • Perform site survey, as necessary.
  • Assist lead engineer in performance assessments of designers & establishing training needs.
  • Ensure compliance to project specifications and company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures
  • Design work in Rig and Ship building - 80% of the time approx.
  • Coordination / communication (internal and external) - 10% of the time approx.
  • Progress of project deliverables / commitments - 10% of the time approx.
Working Relationships:Internal Interactions:
  • Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head ? Piping & Process, Engineering Manager
External Interactions:
  • Subcontractors, Consultants, Software Supplier, Inspection Agencies.
Who we are looking for: Education:
  • ITI Draughtsmanship or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
  • 10 + years in any Engineering company. Preference will be given for those had worked in ship and rig building yard, major construction yard, EPC contractor and/or Consultant Company using AVEVA 3D modelling software.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
  • Preferred ? Any additional certification / training on CAD tools and systems.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
  • Conversant with International Codes and Standards, Marine regulations, and Classification rules.
  • Experience in AutoCAD.
  • Design experience in pipe layouts and routing.
  • Experience in 3D design tools like AVEVA.
  • Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and ability to operate within a multinational environment.
  • Good communication skills (both written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines
Languages:
  • English. (Mandatory)
  • Arabic / Others (desirable)
