Job Description

Objective / Purpose of the JobTo consistently meet customer expectations by monitoring timely clearance of consignments within the customs department, whilst adhering to Company Standards, Key focus on clearance & other customs requirements must be improved to ensure failures are kept to a minimum & strategies mapped out for improvement.Dimensions and QuantitiesScopeAccountable for internal customer satisfaction and responsible for external customer retention; Compliance with all relevant iMile policies and procedures.AuthorityEmployees managed: NoneBudget authority: NoneSignature authority: NoneKey Activities / AccountabilitiesKey Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews data for each shipment to identify exact Customer and regulatory requirements, together with the accuracy and completeness of documentation supplied. Follows through to obtain clarification when needed (Customer, Government agencies, within the organization). Makes the decision regarding the most appropriate type of entry based on interpretation of data and regulatory requirements. Escalates potential breach of regulations including all relevant support information.
  2. Supports Company in achieving its Customer Experience related strategies and goals. Establishes and maintains effective Customer relationships and collaborates to develop a thorough understanding of each Customer?s business, processes and requirements. Provides advice to the Customer on alternative clearance services.
  3. Understands and abides by FCPA Foreign Corrupt Practices Act guidelines while conducting day to day business activates in clearance operations and also ensures his/her peers employees abides by it.
  4. Creates and maintains accurate and timely records (hard or soft copy, databases, customer requests etc.) for all assigned transactions that provide an effective audit trail.
  5. Timely follow up and update of system files and resolution of problematic shipments within agreed timelines. Performs any other related duties, including providing contingency cover, when requested by management.
  6. Managing the inbound pending shipments for onboard customers and follow up with Internal customer on daily basis for required custom clearance documents / cross border and ensures to complete and move for clearance within timeline, and monitor system accordingly.
  7. Missing Documents shipments, ensure to coordinate with clearance and CS team call to customer and arrange required clearance documents, if documents not received from customer inform origin and share deadline for RTS.
  1. Monitoring partial shipments and ensure to move for clearance when shipment completed.
  2. Maintaining all files for pending shipments and building the files for un manifested and missing document shipments once received from shipper or consignee.
  3. Maintaining the list for all pending shipments in inbound and reporting to management with remarks on daily basis.
  4. Checking, verifying and sending the pre-alert to destinations.
  5. Prepare daily, Weekly and Monthly google tracker.
  6. Communicating international operations, vendor and other internal stakeholders
