The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental systems to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards. This role supports risk assessments, incident investigations, safety audits, and continuous improvement of HSE performance across all operational areas.Key Responsibilities:Develop and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines based on international standards and local regulations.Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments (HIRA), and recommend control measures.Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE plans, permit-to-work systems, and safety regulations.Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to staff and contractors.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare root cause analysis and reports.Maintain documentation related to HSE audits, inspections, training, and incidents.Liaise with project teams, contractors, and external agencies on HSE matters.Support the implementation of environmental management practices (waste, emissions, spill control).Participate in emergency drills and ensure preparedness for fire, medical, and evacuation scenarios.Continuously monitor and recommend improvements to the company’s HSE culture and performance.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental preferred).NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certification (required).3–5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in construction, oil & gas, or heavy industry.Knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).Familiarity with local HSE laws, codes, and regulations.
