Health and Safety Manager

Job Description

Job Purpose:The Health and Safety Manager for the Beacon Development Department is responsible for the strategy, creation, development, implementation and administration of comprehensive health, safety and environmental programs and policies for Beacon Development. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of occupational health and safety and environmental risk elements advising the Beacon Development leadership of the acceptability of such risk, ensuring compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety and environmental regulations, as well as compliance with KAUST HSE systems, protocols and procedures.Major Accountabilities:You will: * Support the creation of The Beacon Development Safety Culture. * Promote the importance of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, and create a culture that integrates health and safety across all Beacon Development functions. * Serve as the primary contact on HSE issues within Beacon Development. * Be the Health and Safety subject matter expert with clients and regulators working with Beacon Development staff on projects or designing proposal responses. * Develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety across all Beacon Development projects, while ensuring alignment and consistency with KAUST HSE systems, policies and protocols. * Lead the implementation of the Beacon Development Health and Safety Management system. * Drive a proactive safety culture across all functions of Beacon Development. * Support the Beacon Development Leadership and Project Heads in delivering solid safety plans on all projects to protect all employees, visitors, assets and reputational risk. * Work with Beacon Development Heads, Marine and Terrestrial Leads, and Field Services Team to ensure HSE plans are cascaded to all employees and contractors. * Manage the Beacon Development Annual Inspection Program for all projects, approve, and review all HSE plans to keep the leadership fully updated on meeting compliance. * Conduct Safety Audits that include a brief summary report noting any deviations from the Health and Safety Plan, and corrective actions that may be necessary to promote the health and safety of Beacon Development employees, subcontractors, visitors and the public. * Facilitate and lead for the Beacon Development HSE Meetings. * Review and approve HSE related parameters for Beacon Development. * Be responsible for a high-performance organization through mentoring, development, goal setting and measuring set key performance indicators and success factors. * Manage Beacon Development HSE employees. When necessary, plan, request, and assist in the hiring of new personnel. * Work as the internal incident manager, ensuring that safety emergencies and injuries are properly managed. * Review all contract documents related to ongoing or proposed work for safety related issues. * Manage subcontractor safety programs: ensure that subcontractor programs are compliant with Beacon Development HSE regulations. * Be accountable for the delivery of job specific safety training for Beacon Development employees. * Lead health and safety risk assessments and identify control measures to manage risks to ALARP. * Developing corrective action where required to eliminate or mitigate risks. * Facilitate the monthly health and safety meetings.Qualifications:* Bachelor?s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering related discipline, Master?s Degree in Health and Safety is preferred. * International certification in HSE is desirable (i.e. ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor, CSP, NEBOSH).Experience:You will have: * 6 + years of experience in a similar role. * Strong knowledge in health and safety governance and compliance. * Experience in planning and implementing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems., and leading Health & Safety Audits.
