Job Description

Job Summary:The General Manager of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for overseeing the IT departments operations and strategic direction. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, developing and implementing IT policies, and ensuring the alignment of technology with the organizations goals. The GM of IT will lead a team of IT professionals, manage budgets, and collaborate with other departments to support business needs through technology.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with the companys goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership and direction for the IT department.
  • Drive innovation and ensure the effective implementation of technology solutions.
IT Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including system administration, network management, and support services.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery within scope, time, and budget.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource utilization.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor contracts and relationships to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Technology Integration and Support:
  • Assess and implement new technologies to improve business processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions.
  • Communicate IT strategies and updates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate IT-related risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A masters degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure, projects, and teams.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, vendor management, and strategic planning.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and technologies.
