DescriptionHawk Simulator Team Leader Salary: Competitive Location: TabukJOB PURPOSEBAE Systems is the UK Governments nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships. The Hawk Simulator Engineering Team Leader is responsible to the LOA3 Hawk Senior Maintenance Manager for the achievement of contractual Operational & Training capability targets for the Full Mission Simulators, Integrated Procedures Trainers, Egress Training Devices, Ejection Seat Training Devices Auxiliary Training Aids and Multi-media Computer Based Training under the LOA 3 Project.JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESThe jobholder shall provide regular and adhoc Reports to Senior Management covering:

  • Weekly & Monthly utilization and maintenance activities
  • Availability, Reliability and Maintainability Data
  • Critical and Obsolescent item tracking
  • Failure Trend Analysis
The jobholder shall develop and implement policies to cover the following:
  • Tool control
  • Calibration control
  • Preventative maintenance scheduling
  • Unscheduled maintenance procedures
  • Document control
  • Site administration
  • Repairable management
  • Consumables management
  • Obsolescence management
  • Configuration management
  • Technical Query management
  • ITAR and Export Control
  • Safety and FOD
The jobholder will be expected to operate utilising their own initiative to meet the contractual deliverables as detailed in the LOA3 contractThe jobholder will also be required to provide leadership, support and guidance to the Shift Supervisors, Simulator Technicians and Logistics Specialist in order to achieve maximum performance from the maintenance teamCommunication is key to success of any project so constant feedback and reporting of progress and issues will be required. Till be to either senior management or members of the maintenance team as required by the nature of the task.The jobholder will be responsible for the quality of their own work and scheduled output, with performance formally reviewed on an annual basis with a mid-year review.RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related field or the graduate of a recognised simulator maintenance course.
  • Extensive post qualification practical experience in the field of Simulator and Training Aids engineering (design, integration, installation, commissioning, acceptance and maintenance) including extensive experience of which will have been in a supervisory / managerial role.
  • Extensive proven experience in a relevant management role.
  • Fully conversant with the concepts of maintainability, reliability, system diagnosis and failure modes, design procedures and industrial processes.
  • Must be computer literate with the Microsoft Office suite of programmes and Windows.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written. Able to produce and understand technical documentation unambiguously.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise briefs, presentations, reports and letters.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the RSAF organisation with practical experience of RSAF procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of the BAE Systems organisation with practical experience of BAE Systems procedures and processes.
  • Experience of Simulator Site Acceptance and Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • A good understanding of General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) processes (or equivalent) with regards to the civil certification of fixed and rotary wing aircraft simulators up to Level D.
RECRUITMENT
  • Will be able to demonstrate experience in Simulator maintenance and engineering and have proven supervisory experience in a relevant role
  • Must be trained in Simulator engineering or a related technical discipline at a civilian or military school of technical training, or have completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship. Ideally to include extensive working experience in an Simulator maintenance and servicing environment
  • Must be a quality minded, mature, individual that adopts a positive and proactive approach to Simulator maintenance and support issues
