Please make sure to complete an application by clicking here for this job posting.The individual shall teach English Language Arts (ELA) to students in a departmentalized high school grades 6 - 12 in special education and alternative education programs. The individual should have knowledge regarding or experience with students who are at risk of failure because of academic, social, and emotional differences. Strong behavior management and leadership skills, and the ability to modify curriculum to meet students needs, are required. The individual must be a team player and work collaboratively with support staff. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training is preferred. The individual must have or be eligible for appropriate teaching certification upon hire. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Assignment is subject to change.
