Job Description

* Take lead on marking layouts, allocating bays as per workload and make necessary arrangements for fabrication of Mast and Substructure, Mud systems etc. * Assigns work to department personnel to attain department objectives using knowledge of production processes, company policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity and employee capabilities. * Supervise dimensional check on fabricated items/assembly to ensure compliance to drawing tolerances and detail requirements. * Ensures fabricators are using the approved latest version of drawings all the time. * Ensure manhours are accurately captured on respective jobs using Kronos/Oracle. * Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant fabrication/welding skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the section objectives. * Ensure availability of proper equipment, materials, and consumables for all the activities. Make list of hand tools for fabrication and ensure availability of same. * Develop and implement appropriate fabrication techniques to ensure accuracy, productivity and level of product standards are met. * Effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations. * Establishes and controls procedures to meet production schedules and conforming to fabricated assembly components. * Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency. Optimize use of manpower for higher productivity. * Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards. * Facilitates and promotes company policy and the company Quality Improvement program within all department work groups. * Provides objective feedback to management for continued employee growth. * Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures. * Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices and comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards and best practices. Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements. * Performs other duties as assigned * Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDE inspection and general construction activities. Shall have experience of working to and fully familiar with codes and standards such as from ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API and BS codes used in oil and gas industries. * API 4F/Rig building experience is preferred. * Experience of working in a heavy manufacturing environment with heavy handling requirements * Experience of proving and implementing fabrication processes and procedures * Hands on experience with profile burning, fit-up, weld preparation and plate rolling processes. * Experience in managing fabricators for heavy structures, piping, pressure vessels and other equipment. * Expertise knowledge in tools required for fabrication and working knowledge of ASME & API Codes. * Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings of mast and substructure, mud systems, pressure vessels, piping, process &structural. * 15 years experience in fabrication of heavy structures and equipment. * Fabrication experience in Oil & Gas industry.
