Job Description

CompanyOur client is founded by the Saudi government to bring all communities together and develop all sectors and fields with innovative solutions. They are currently looking for an Equipment Procurement Manager to be based in Saudi Arabia.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute and oversee the equipment acquisition and commissioning of Equipment and infrastructure across the port.
  • Support the development of standard specifications and company policies for the Equipment team pertaining to the highest safety, conditions of equipment and port infrastructure, etc.
  • Ensure that all engineering department personnel conduct, inclusive of Contracted labor. All work in accordance with site and company safety procedures and regulations
  • Ensure that all container-handling equipment is commission and handed over to the highest possible standards and in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and the agreed technical specification and that equipment availability is maintained at an optimum level.
  • Produce regular updates to status of work streams, equipment delivery schedules and other ongoing projects.
  • Support the Technical Asset Manager to Implement and continually develop all necessary maintenance programmes, systems, and procedures to ensure the Container Activation, T1 and T2 equipment meets performance customer requirements.
  • Fully support the selection, acquisition, monitoring of strategic spare parts.
  • The role has responsibility for ensuring new equipment has accurate data acquisition for the monitoring of leading and lagging KPIs, used for engineering and operations performance monitoring and as per client Operations and Engineering Key Performance Policy.
  • An additional workstream includes supporting as strategic innovation partnership on renewable fuels and support to the Supply Chain and Logistics sector.
  • The incumbent shall be expected to take on other responsibilities or workstreams as directed.
Qualification & Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years proven experience leading the engineering procurement of major port equipment particularly with key manufacturers such as Liebherr, ZPMC, Sany, Hyster, Kalmar, KONE, Gaussin and Terberg etc.
  • Minimum 10 years in a role procuring major container port equipment.
  • IOSH Qualification preferred
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • In depth heavy equipment engineering experience, preferable in a Ports environment
  • Understands international and Saudi standards and when to apply them.
  • Exposure and understanding civil engineering within a port environment is advantageous
  • Extensive vendor management, tendering experience, and contractual knowledge of port cargo handling equipment.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent man management, organizational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure and uses initiative in problem solving.
