Job Description

Develop, establish and ensure effective and efficient implementation of Environmental policy, procedures and standards relating to Power and Desalination Plant.˙Technical Guidance and Services

  • Provide comprehensive regulatory and technical expertise to develop and implement major environmental programs
  • Develops strategies for managing complex or sensitive environmental issues related to specific plant operations, business and corporate initiatives in all compliance and responsible environmental management areas pertinent to the power and desalination sector.
  • Provides environmental expertise, guidance and support to plants to assist in maintaining regulatory compliance and achieving environmental objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities and take actions to implement cost reductions related to environmental compliance and sustainable growth.
  • Supports environmental activities for major capital projects and other plant investments.
  • Counsels and advises senior management in the areas of environmental compliance; environmental management systems; environmental engineering, and environmental management strategies for current operations, divestitures, mergers/acquisitions, and future regulatory developments.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of implementation and follow-up support.
  • Providing environmental technical advisory support to implementers of projects - Environmental Advisory Services.
  • Fulfil the requirement of ISO14001 standards to ensure the integrated management system is in place.
  • Lead the risk assessments and task reviews of key activities in the Plant, to identify and prevent probable HSSE hazards leading to significant losses
  • Report HSE Metrics / indicators and performance to HSE Country and Regional Manager in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the HSSE Personnel at the Regional / Corporate Level and prepare reports on the HSSE management and performance of the plant, in order to prioritize actions and escalate HSSE issues for timely resolution.
Stakeholder Management Maintain positive working relationships with regulators and emergency services, contractors etc., to ensure mutual support and adherence to HSSE compliance requirements.˙Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures˙Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.Related Assignments˙Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.
