Engineering Workshop Technician

Job Description

• Bachelor or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum (5) years experience in Engineering Workshops in universities or similar

Task Description:

• Operating technical workshops, devices, equipment and tools, and activating the important role of these workshops in serving the work of the operation and maintenance project in accordance with the highest international and local professional standards regulating this and in accordance with the requirements of the project contract and its scope of work.
• Examining and repairing devices and equipment received for technical workshops and preparing periodic technical and operational related reports.
• Carrying out all technical and professional support work for the project of maintaining and operating the equipment and laboratories of King Khalid University through the capabilities and equipment of the specialized engineering workshops and in accordance with the schedules and operational work plans and according to the specified times.
• Rapid and effective response to emergency remedial and corrective maintenance work.
• Executing specialized and approved work orders (only) and submitting related technical reports in accordance with the specified operational and time standards.
• Work directly with the project engineers, its management and the rest of the project work teams to ensure the success of the project and achieve its objectives.
• Ensuring the use of specialized equipment and software in the field of project work, which facilitates operation and maintenance operations of all kinds, while ensuring continuous development of performance and achievement in accordance with the highest modern professional and institutional standards.
• Documenting the procedures and strategies of the technical workshops in accordance with the best technical and administrative practices used to ensure the achievement of the projects objectives.
• Attending training and technical courses related to the nature of business related to the operation of systems and programs that fall within the scope of a project, training and transfer of expertise to users of these modern programs in accordance with the highest professional standards and in accordance with what is required by the interest of the work and approved by the management that owns and supervises the project.
• Full commitment to the projects implementation plans and the time set for implementation, and to submit periodic reports related to the competent authority in accordance with the requirements and regulating mechanisms.
• Fully comply with the performance standards of the project and related regulations and implement the directives issued by the authority supervising the project.
• Full commitment to the implementation of tasks in accordance with the highest local and international standards and in accordance with the requirements of King Khalid University related to occupational health and safety and in accordance with the regulations and requirements of the project contract.
• Full commitment to the implementation of tasks in accordance with the highest local and international standards and in accordance with the requirements of King Khalid University related to systems and practices of total quality and in accordance with the systems and requirements of the project contract.
• Full compliance with the technical, administrative, ethical and security standards regulating the projects work and objectives in accordance with the regulations and in accordance with the specified professional standards.
• Fully comply with the policies of King Khalid University with regard to information technology systems and cybersecurity, and according to what is officially determined by the authority supervising the project (General Administration of Educational Services).
• Any other work assigned to him by the project manager and the general administration of educational services at the university, which is in the interest of the work and is consistent with the system.
