Job Description

Wood is recruiting an ED IV/ Civil Designer to support our Engineering team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned scopes of work with little supervision from the Lead Engineer.
  • Provide discipline drafting expertise to the team and to the business.
  • Review as - built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement.
  • Provide guidance to Designers and CADD operators.
  • Go for site visits and verify site conditions and markup drawings/perform as-built activities.
  • Liaise with project / lead engineers at all levels.
  • Provide design input to project estimates.
  • Actively participates in Competency and Training.
  • Participate in audit and incident investigations as required.
  • Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports / respective team.
  • Provide strong leadership in promoting, demonstrating and being a role model in accordance with company core values and ethics policy.
  • Monitor teams compliance with competence standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the Field of Civil design drafting and 3D Modelling.
  • With Engineering Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Candidate must have relevant experience in: Roads, Drainage, Earthworks, Grading, Paving, and Site Development
  • Has extensive experience in the hydrocarbon processing / utilities units, the oil / gas industry or refinery or infrastructure project / process industries and has engineering design experience on large projects.
  • Has extensive experience with 3D modelling using 3D Software such as Civil 3D, Openroads, SP3D, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of project QA / QC requirements applicable to drafting function in engineering design.
  • Must have knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Has extensive experience in preparation of bill of materials.
  • Proficient with codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to drafting function.
  • Competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for drafting function.
  • Experienced in managing and leading discipline designers and draftsmen.
  • Able to liaise with project / lead engineers at all levels.
  • Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)
  • Conversant with company and Client drafting standards and specifications.
  • Proactive leadership of team in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong English Communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office application like Word and Excel.
