Job Description

University of Prince Murgin (UPM) is looking for a caliber to fill vacancy of Information Technology Director:IT Director will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions that support the universitys mission and goals. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with a proven track record of successful IT leadership in higher education or a similar organizational environment.The Director will play a key role in shaping the universitys technology vision and roadmap, ensuring the delivery of smart, strategic, and optimized solutions.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic Planning:

• Develop and lead the IT strategic planning process, aligning technology initiatives with the universitys overall strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and identify technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Technology Leadership:

• Provide visionary leadership to the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, advising on their relevance and potential impact on the universitys IT landscape.

Smart Solutions:

• Lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of technologies and smart solutions to meet the universitys goals.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand their technology requirements and develop smart solutions.

Optimization Solutions:

• Oversee projects focused on optimizing existing IT infrastructure and systems for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Implement best practices for IT service management, ensuring a proactive and responsive approach to user needs.

Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet organizational priorities.
• Provide financial oversight, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement robust cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Establish and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard university data and information systems.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
• Communicate IT initiatives and developments effectively to a diverse audience, fostering understanding and support.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

• Masters degree in computer science or any related field.
• Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably in higher education.
• Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
