Responsibilities:Carpenters build and install structures and fixtures, such as walls, floors, doors, cabinets, and shelving. They may also install roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.Measuring and cutting:Carpenters measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials. They may also select lumber by size and strength to suit each job.Reading plans:Carpenters follow blueprints, building plans, sketches, and instruction manuals to meet client needs and project specifications.Safety:Carpenters ensure compliance with zoning laws, building codes, and workplace safety regulations. They should be attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.
