DescriptionBasic Skills Training Senior Instructor ? Electronics & ElectricityGrade: 6Location: Dhahran, Saudi ArabiaJOB PURPOSEBAE Systems is the UK Government?s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Naval Forces ships and train RSNF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their ships and equipment.The post holder will be responsible for leading a team of Basic Skills Training (BST) Instructors in the Electronics & Electricity field at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS). This includes classroom delivery, placement and progress testing / marking, materials selection, preparation and development, syllabus development, implementation of courses and record keeping.The post holder and all direct reports are expected to teach the core skills, knowledge and attitude of relevant elements of the City & Guilds 2850-84 Level 2 Certificate qualifications.The post holder will co-ordinate with the Academic Science / Basic Skills Training Manager(AS/BSTM) concerning all aspects of course administration and implementation.JOB ACCOUNTABILITIESThe post holder is responsible for:? the implementation of BST-E&E courses at TINS, ensuring that they are delivered to plan and that quality is maintained,? providing direction and guidance to Basic Skills Training Instructors ? Electrical and Electronics (BSTI-E&E) and Basic Skills Training Technical Assistants ? Electrical and Electronics (BSTTA-E&E), including professional development and training,? the day-to-day leadership and management of the BST-E&E team delivering the BST-E&E courses to ensure that all training targets are met,? establishing and maintaining effective links with local RSNF Liaison Officers,? contributing to preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of BSTI-E&E,? contributing to the acquisition, allocation, maintenance and use of training resources including textbooks, workbooks, classrooms, laboratories, training devices, and consumables,? working closely with the RSNF Surveillance and Cadet Welfare teams to ensure appropriate levels of cadet discipline are maintained,? reviewing BSTI-E&E performance through lesson observations,? managing, directing and planning workload of the BST-E&E team,? maintaining effective working relationships with the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) team to ensure activities in the LRC are complementary to the mainstream teaching and remain an effective part of the program,? ensuring that all SHE requirements are communicated to staff and met in the Basic Skills Training environment,? ensuring that the Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) of direct reports are completed to schedule, identifying development needs and ensuring effective objectives are communicated and realized,? selecting and developing appropriate course material to match students? abilities and requirements,? providing regular updates to the AS/BST Manager on training performance, cadet discipline and any other issues that require his assistance,? ensuring that all reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner,? ensuring that all quality process documentation requirements are implemented and communicated to the BST-E&E team.The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with Company business.RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATIONEssentialThe post holder must:Have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 for non-native English language speakers.? demonstrate proven experience of leading a team of instructors and overseeing training delivery to a high standard,? be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent,? have extensive practical experience in their specialty,? have successfully completed a military Defence Train the Trainer or UKG approved instructional techniques course (RFQF Level 3), or Saudi equivalent,? be qualified to teach City & Guilds (C&G) 2850-84 Level 2 Certificate in Engineering ? Electrical and Electronics Technology,? be a good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills,? be fluent in English with a minimum of IELTS 6.0 for non-native English language speakers achieved within the last two years, and? demonstrate high levels of cultural sensitivity.DesirableThe post holder should:? hold a City & Guilds 2850-84 qualification,? have knowledge and experience of different teaching methodologies and associated techniques,? have knowledge and experience of developing training materials,? have experience using interactive media, including e-content, for teaching, and? have experience of delivering training to a military customer, or a customer in a regulated environment.EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE BENEFITSIn return for the required high levels of commitment and hard work you will receive a competitive salary, rent free accommodation and access to free recreation facilities, all available within Company secured accommodation.
