Job Description

  • Farm Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day farm operations, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and irrigation activities.
  • Monitor crop health, pest management, and soil conditions to ensure optimal growth.
  • Manage farm equipment, machinery, and tools, ensuring proper maintenance and safety standards.
  • Staff Management:
  • Supervise and manage farm workers, providing training and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Develop and assign tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the farm.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and motivate staff to meet production goals.
  • Budget & Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost efficiency in all areas of operations.
  • Monitor expenses, implement cost-saving measures, and track revenue from farm sales.
  • Maintain accurate records of farming operations, including crop yields, input costs, and financial data.
  • Crop & Livestock Management (if applicable):
  • Plan and implement crop rotation and planting schedules.
  • Ensure the proper care and breeding of livestock, including monitoring health and feeding schedules.
  • Manage harvest timelines, post-harvest processing, and packaging.
  • Compliance & Environmental Management:
  • Ensure compliance with organic agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Implement sustainable organic farming practices to reduce environmental impact.
  • Maintain records for inspections, certifications, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting:
  • Assist with long-term farm development plans, identifying opportunities for expansion, diversification, or improved productivity.
  • Prepare reports on farm progress, including crop yields, labor costs, and financial performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
