Sr. Analyst -Applications

Job Description

To conduct the development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems forspecified functional areas and use technical knowledge and experience in IT applications toplan and apply changes in processes and systems that develop appropriate solutions to thebusiness. In addition, contributes to the development of long-term strategic goals for ITapplications in conjunction with end users, managers, clients and other stakeholders as well astraining peers and users to develop their technical skills.Accountability:? Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementationof procedures and controls covering all areas of IT Applications activity so that allrelevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality,cost- effective service to customer.? Provides application development, maintenance, optimization, innovation andmanages 3rd level support for implemented and/or assigned solutions in order totroubleshoot system problems and ensure all projects are completed, tested anddeployed according to timelines as well as keeping key stakeholders informed.? Dispatches, analyzes, prioritizes, schedules and tackles incoming issue andproblem tickets from end users in accordance with set service level agreementsand escalates where necessary to ensure the resolution of system issues and thatapplications fulfill end-user requirements that meet the business needs.? Records, tracks and documents the problem-solving process, including allsuccessful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken to the finalresolution in order to ensure that application processes and functions operateefficiently throughout the project lifecycle and in adherence to Hikma.? Tests fixes and performs post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have beenadequately resolved.? Serves as an expert for existing applications or solutions on a technical level inorder to employ comprehensive knowledge that influences technology and solutiondecisions and identifies Pharma industry processes or technologies that couldprovide Hikma a competitive advantage.? Performs preventative maintenance, including fine-tuning, health-checks,monitoring, installation of service packs, hot fixes and so on in order to avoid futureproblems and enhance/maintain system applications.? Liaises with internal and external partners and system providers for promptrectification of any problems or emergencies.? Researches, evaluates and makes recommendations on technology products andservices in order to respond to new business needs and improve efficienciesaround IT application services.? Participates in the design, development and delivery of software application trainingprograms and individual classes to train the user on current, new or modifiedapplications.? Mentors and trains peers in order to enhance their application development skillsand motivate them to work to their best potential.? Provides quality checks in order to help manage department documentationreviews and approvals.? Meets regularly with IT colleagues and stakeholders to understand and analyzetheir processes and needs in order to determine/gather requirements to presentpossible solutions or improvements.? Maintains awareness of IT process best practices, technology trends and emergingtechnologies to leverage knowledge of applications/systems to drive and scaleHikma?s operations.? Partners with the technology product and engineering teams to innovate clientfacing capabilities and integrate those features into the application roadmap.? Handles all project activities associated with scope, resources, time, procurement,quality, issues and risks to develop status reports based on results and progress.? Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement ofsystems, processes and practices taking into account ?international best practice?,improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.? Prepares departmental reports of IT Applications timely and accurately to meetcompany and department requirements, policies and standards.? Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies,procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.? Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
