Job Description

Senior Cost AccountantAbout CaloLaunched in Bahrain in November of 2019, Calo is on a mission to make healthy easy. We?re a team of dedicated people driving this mission by providing better, faster, and cheaper ways to access food through technology.Role overviewWe are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join our Food Team. You?ll be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports.Main Responsibilities

  • Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases and inventory
  • Analyzing data collected and recording results and preparing Variance Analysis reports
  • Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
  • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
  • Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
  • Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
  • Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
  • Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger
  • Supports physical inventories and monitors cycle count program
Ideal CandidateRequirements & Skills
  • Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study
