Job Description

Summary:The Business Unit (Salon) Assistant Manager reports directly to the Business Unit (Salon) Manager and assists her in ensuring that the salon is clean, organized and well-staffed. Also performs services such as cutting, colouring and styling hair.Assists the Business Unit (Salon) Manager in preparing:

  • Financial reports for the Business Unit such as revenue and budget needs.
  • Staffing reports ? leavers/new hires
  • Guests? satisfaction reports
  • Inventory reports, and
  • Snagging lists regarding the Salon?s general maintenance.
Specific Job Responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following:
  • Ensures the established standard operating policies and procedures for all aspects of the Salon?s operations are adhered to by all staff.
  • Demonstrates and reinforces excellent guest service to promote a positive customer orientation in the salon and ensure efficient and quality services.
  • Assists the Business Unit Head (Salon) in the recruitment, selection, training, development and evaluation of Salon staff to assure that the staffing levels meet the Salon?s needs.
  • Assists the Business Unit Head (Salon) in the management and monitoring Manages of all areas of the Salon?s operations to ensure compliance with systems, operating procedures and policies.
  • Follows the Business Unit Head?s (Salon) report of expenses against budget and maintains continual awareness of expense/loss control to ensure effective management of expenses.
  • Provides excellent guest service.
  • Assists the Business Unit Head (Salon Managing) in training staff on all technical aspects of hairdressing to promote quality permanents/colouring hairstyles.
  • Ensures guests are happy and the Salon retains their business and remains known as a quality hair care provider.
  • Recommends/suggests product purchases to guests to maximize product sales and to ensure they are using the right product for their hair type/style. Trains staff on this aspect of their role.
  • Maintains equipment and reinforces salon cleanliness and appearance to ensure a positive guests? perception.
  • Performs other projects, work and activities as assigned to ensure continuous service to customers.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Business Unit Head ? Salon.
