Job Description

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTJOB PURPOSEThe United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS) has been a pioneering financing mechanism to advance integrated programmes by the UN system and partners that are comprehensive, people-centred, context-specific and preventive.Under the UNTFHS, WFP as the Administration Agency will work with other Applying Organizations, namely UNDP and UNFPA, and other stakeholders inlcuding the National Ministries and Sabha Municipality to support the local influencers and stakeholders to better understand the existing and emerging challenges through the human security framework, and engage with the target population groups to collectively devise and endeavour to implement adapted solutions that are underpinned by the principles of the human security.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Participate in the implementation, strengthening and monitoring of a project funded through the UNTFHS?
  2. Assist the Applying Organizations in researching, analysing and presenting information gathered from diverse sources and preparing various written outputs;
  3. Participate in UNTFHS field missions and draft mission summaries;
  4. Assist the Applying Organizations in undertaking outreach activities on the added value of the human security concept among UN and non-UN counterparts;
  5. Provide logistical support to consultative and other meetings;
  6. Support the design and implementation of M&E strategies for UNTFHS funded project;
  7. Liaise with the municipality on UNTFHS and Nexus approaches
  8. Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and challenges within a specific technical area of responsibility;
  9. Provide translations from Arabic into English and English into Arabic;
  10. Perform other duties as required
