Security Clearance: An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearanceCertifications: Current IAT Level II certification and a Network cert or higherDue to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.Job Responsibilities:The TCF Support:? Shall plan, install, operate and maintain TCF for the communications network.? Shall assess, evaluate and re-engineer complex circuit/link restoration accommodating critical communication architectural requirements, in coordinate with systems engineering personnel.? Shall address capabilities and limitations of communication equipment, troubleshooting procedures, security requirements, and technology to install, operate, maintain, and restore all links and circuits as required.? Shall be capable of clearly articulating technical issues both in speech and writing to non-technical personnel.? Shall be responsible for the appropriate management of the employment and proficiency of the Technical Control Technicians.? Shall perform advanced corrective maintenance on Technical Control Facilities to the chassis mounted component level.? Shall capture and record technical data during installation and fault isolation in such forms as log book, trouble ticket or outage reports.? Shall coordinate activation/deactivation and fault isolation of communications links and circuits connecting w/different services and agencies across time zones and nationalities.Minimum Qualifications:? Shall have detailed knowledge of the operation and maintenance of Promina 400/800 multiplexors.? Shall have detailed knowledge of GPS network timing schemes and devices.? Shall have detailed knowledge of signal flow, wiring schematics, network timing, and signal conversion.? Shall have detailed knowledge of testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment to include but not limited to Fireberd 8000, T-Berd 6000, Fluke 199, O-scope, and spectrum analyzers.? Shall have knowledge and familiarity with the different networks in use within Regional Command, and the ISAF IJC.? Shall have knowledge and familiarity of encryption devices (KIV-19A, KIV-7 family, KG devices, TACLANE devices, and similar equipment) must know how to configure cryptographic devices to communicate with DISA, Marine Corps, and joint units.? Shall have knowledge and familiarity of cryptographic fills, how to load an encryption device, how to verify the fill segments, and how to operate a Simple Key Loader (SKL).? Shall have knowledge and familiarity with Cisco IOS-based routers 3900, 3800, and 2800 families; Cisco IOS based switches within the 6500, 4500, and 3700 families.? Shall have knowledge and familiarity of IP communications, including packet analysis? Shall have knowledge and familiarity with layer 3 technologies, such as EIGRP and HSRP.? Shall have knowledge and familiarity with layer 2 technologies, such as Rapid Spanning-Tree.? Shall utilize network management tools (Solarwinds) to monitor, evaluate, and report health statistics of WAN/LAN Networks.? Shall possess familiarity with the employment and operation of Microwave Line-of-Sight (WPPL, Airaya, MRC-142C), Troposcatter, and Satellite (DKET, SWAN, SNAP) communications systems.? Shall possess comprehensive network troubleshooting skills.? Shall possess comprehensive technical documentation skills. Including the development of equipment programming records, and network architecture and equipment string diagrams.? Shall provide on-site coordination of the installation, troubleshooting and restoration of WAN/LAN and special interest circuits.? Shall maintain detailed recordkeeping on circuit installation, maintenance, and termination while providing timely and accurate status updates to systems control and engineering personnel.? Shall supervise the employment of separate functional area technicians to ensure the completion of necessary network actions.? Shall be familiar with Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.? Current IAT Level II certification? Network certification or higherEducation:An associate s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
