JOB PURPOSE Responsible for cutting samples, carries out the necessary proof and machine scarfing and surface rectification as directed by the Slab Yard Lead Operator . Will be required to cut back slabs as instructed, and perform heavy burning work in cases of caster breakouts etc.Key accountabilities Operates Auto scarfing machine and scarfing plant facilities. Uses heavy duty oxy-propane scarfing guns to proof dress slabs and cutting guns to cut scrap according to set procedures. Carries out rectification work using scarfing guns to remove surface defects from the slab and Updates in L-3 slab movement. Uses a portable cutting machine to obtain samples, slitting and cut back slabs to the required customer lengths and widths.Minimum Experience 3 year related plant experience.Minimum QualificationsHigh school
