Elbarlament is a peacebuilding and democracy support organisation, with a special focus on empowering women and youth. We follow a unique approach that integrates conflict sensitivity, cultural awareness and intersectionality. Elbarlament cooperates with parliaments, governments, civil society actors and international institutions, implementing projects and delivering consulting services in German, English, French and Arabic. Our international and multilingual team is based in Berlin, Cologne and Erbil (Iraq). Elbarlament has been active in Iraq since 2016 in various projects on the advancement of women and the dialogue between civil society actors and political decision makers.The project officer will support the implementation of a six-months feasibility study, funded by GIZ. To support the development of more solid climate and environmental policies, this study will examine the feasibility of creating a climate and environment institute in Iraq. The feasibility study will focus particularly on measures to adapt Iraq to climate change in the areas of water and agriculture. More information about the project is available on our website.The project officer will report to the Project Manager based in Berlin.The job includes, among other tasks:-Ensuring project implementation in Iraq in coordination with the project manager, including assisting with administrative and financial tasks (collecting invoices, own-expense slips, participants lists, etc.)-Communication with study participants and stakeholders-Organising and conducting key informant interviews and focus group meetings in Baghdad and other regions of Iraq-Building and maintaining relations with relevant actors and institutions in Iraq, including the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at central Iraq level and in KRI-Supporting elbarlament staff in Germany and consultants hired by elbarlament to develop the research methodology for the study during field visits (logistics, access to stakeholders)
