?The primary duties and responsibilities of the?News Producer include?, but are not limited to:Coordinates with the Bureau Chief and Senior Correspondent on selecting timely news content.Prepares visual material for video reports (PKGs).Understands structure of TV reports ? and PKG elements.Assigns special event coverage and direct correspondents during news coverage.Writes scripts and news items for newscasts.Proofreads, edits and approves all Arabic content.Approves and/or suggests pieces to correspondents and camera operators.Actively participates in editorial meetings and proposes unique coverage angles.Clearly understands the major stories of the day and their relationship to the company mission and viewers.Aggressively pursues breaking news and assists Assignment Desk and other newscast producers during coverage of breaking news.Actively follows news in different parts of Iraq.Provides ideas, pitches and forward planning of events.Develops and assigns coverage plans and PKG ideas.Provides guidance to the network of correspondents across Iraq.Remains creative and cool under pressure
