Learn more at civiliansinconflict.org. About the Position CIVIC?s Iraq team promotes civilian protection through research, advocacy, and trainings in Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. CIVIC is seeking a part-time intern to support the MEL work at CIVIC Iraq. He/she will be working with the MEL officer to support with monitoring and evaluation, along with some translations English/Arabic/kurdish. The selected candidate will benefit from working with a dynamic and supportive team, he/she will be learning about monitoring and evaluation, while also supporting CIVIC MEL with her/his work. CIVIC interns have gone on to work with international non-governmental organizations, governments, and think tanks. Key Functions * Supporting MEL officer in MEL activities. * Collecting data from the program team for verification purposes. * Provide assistance in translation of MEL tools, from Kurdish,English, Arabic. * Learning about CIVIC?s evaluation and providing support when needed. * Support monitoring the ongoing work of CIVIC Iraq program and following up with the team to submit the Activity tracking reports. * Attending meetings as needed. * Functioning as a self-sustaining member of our team. Requirements and Preferred Qualifications * This internship is open to current graduate level students, those who have recently completed graduate studies, or those with an undergraduate degree and relevant work experience; * Fluency in Arabic and English required, additional fluency or knowledge in Kurdish preferred; * Prior experience of conducting data collection is preferred. * Applicants should be flexible and have confidence in handling multiple tasks, as well as the ability to work independently; * Interns will be expected to maintain a level of confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive information. Additional Details * This is a part-time internship with the expectation of 20 hours per week of engagement, with flexibility for busier periods. * Intern candidates should be available to begin work on February 2022 and continue through May 2022. * Interns receive a small daily stipend to cover transportation. * Applications should be submitted in English. * Resumes are reviewed on a rolling basis so please apply early.
