Job Description

Background:The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) was established for the financing of reconstruction activities to rebuild the country and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of the on-going conflict. The SRTF was created to provide the international community with a vehicle to offer financial support to the National Coalition for responding to the needs of the Syrian people.The Management Unit (MU) was established to manage the Fund and its allocations to projects addressing reconstruction, recovery, and stabilization to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.Governing bodies of SRTF are:The Steering Board (SB), with frequent meetings two times a year.The Management Committee (MC), meeting every three months.The Director General of SRTF (DG).1.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Senior Field Manager (ASFM) is a critical position within the SRTF that carries responsibilities for helping the Senior Field Manager to remotely manage the daily work of the SRTF?s Field Coordinator Officers (FCOs).ASFM should have a technical background to understand the required engineering input. He/ She should have good communication skills with adept performance for coordinating with FCOs inside Syria and should be able to work in a fluid environment and changing projects parameters.The incumbent will be part of the Stabilization Programme team and carry the responsibility for helping the Senior Field Manager (SFM) for day to day works. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Report and work under the direct supervision of the SFM and if required directly under the Stabilization Programme Section Head (SPSH)
  • Assist the SFM to manage the FCO team inside Syria ensuring consistent communication.
  • Assist in engineering subject matters and knowledge of technical designs for all infrastructure-related projects.
  • Assist in the communication with the FCOs thereby maintaining consistent information flows from SFM to the field and vice versa.
  • Attend meetings with FCOs, as required, and contribute to the requirements needed.
  • Prepare a weekly report to SFM including archives of all projects reports from the field, photos, and all projects tools.
  • Prepare master files for any upcoming projects under the supervision of SFM and other reports or tasks as required.
  • Ensure that MUs regulations on security and confidentiality are observed when preparing and sharing information.
