A leader in financial services technology based in Amman, Jordan, is looking for Junior Database SpecialistReports to IT Operations & Support ManagerJob Purpose :Responsible for Maintains database by identifying and solving database requirements such as, planning and development, performance, integrity and security of a database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.Key Results Areas? Manage Database Environment? Design and Implements? Troubleshooting? Database Development? Reporting and AssistResponsibilitiesManage Database Environment? Monitoring and maintaining Local database environments? Assets DB manager and Database specialist to Monitor and support production database environments? Maintains database performance by troubleshooting problems? Monitoring database performance? Set up backup? Making sure the information is protected and backed-up? Install Database on serversDesign and Implements? Building new databases, and maintaining existing database? Design databases to support business applications, assist in ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability.? Design database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and function-based indexes to enable efficient access of the generic database structure? Maintain reliability, stability and data integrity of the databasesTroubleshooting? Data Maintenance and insuring data integrity? Test changes to database applications or systems? Identify and correct deviations from database development standards? Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations? Help desk and support on database levelDatabase Development? Improving the effectiveness of the database tools and services? Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures? database development? Develop and document database architectures? Demonstrate database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability? Document and communicate database schemas, using accepted notations? Develop or maintain archived procedures, procedural codes, or queries for applicationsReporting and Assist? Assist IT Operations & Support Manager? Assist IT teams in any tasks related to DB? Deliver database tasks with highly standards and quality? Assist help desk and support team? Execute defined and communicate approved IT security processes? Report security events or potential events or other security breaches to the Information Security Officer.? Execute decision making hierarchy efficiently and effectively? Commit and adhere to information security policies and procedures? Implementation of information security policies in general and of IT department in particular? Any task required by department headKnowledge and Experience? University degree in IT, Computer Science or another related field? 1- 3 years of related experience performing required tasks?
