Job Description

JOB TITLE:Account Payable Accountant (AP Accountant)EMPLOYMENT LEVEL:Entry LevelJOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all AP activities and transactions/monitoring all transactions related to company purchases.JOB DESCRIPTION:????????Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to organization guidelines????????Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.

  • Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
????????Maintaining historical records????????Disburses petty cash by recording entries and verifying documentation.????????Create/Extend Vendors in ERP System when needed.????????Paying vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, and scheduling paycheques and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance????????Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Issues stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information; ensures accuracy of financial statement areas related to accounts payable.
????????Continuing to improve the payment process
  • Protects the organization?s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides accounting assistance in Taxation Function.
  • Provide support to internal or external audit teams.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
