Main Purpose:To lead a team of draftsmen and to develop designs from job specifications in accordance with international engineering standards and codes of practice.Roles and Responsibilities:1.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To lead and manage a team of professional draftsmen.2.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To develop designs from project specifications3.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To allocate, prioritize and check work of a team of draftsmen.4.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To check and evaluate design and material specifications for tender.5.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To prepare and check material data sheets and coordinate with procurement engineer to select materials.6.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To document, record and report on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project Engineers.7.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To incorporate feed back from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phases.8.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To formulate designs which are intended to be practical, aesthetic and conducive to intended purpose.9.˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙To use design techniques to make the best visual and physical use of space.10.˙˙˙˙˙To collaborate with team of designers to meet the Project?s needs and provide engineering support.11.˙˙˙˙˙To coordinate work produced by in-house junior designers, senior designers, consultants, code, specifications, etc. as directed by the Project Manager.12.˙˙˙˙˙To work closely with other construction professionals such as quantity surveyors, structural engineers, building services engineers and builders.
