Senior Architect- International

Job Description

Job PurposeResponsible for the end-to-end technology architecture of our international operations. The Senior Architect for International will be accountable for assessing the current technology architecture of our international landscape, define the target state technology architecture, and work with our international and UAE teams to drive us towards our target state technology architecture.This person will drive consistency between international landscape and UAE and look for opportunities for re-usability. The person will also be accountable to ensure the designs we adopt in our international landscape meet regulatory requirements in the most optimal way.Key Accountabilities

• Assess and document the current technology architecture for the designed area.
• Work with other teams within Group Technology and with business stakeholders to define the target state technology architecture for the designed area.
• Work with other teams within Group Technology and with business stakeholders to define the roadmap to drive us towards our target state technology architecture.
• Deliver and review artifacts that set the standard for architecture excellence, including strategy documents, reference architectures, technical standards and design documents.
• Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
• Lead or contribute to multiple simultaneous product development efforts and/or technology initiatives.
• Assist in the career development of others by actively mentoring other members of FAB architecture and developer community on advanced technical issues.
• Accountable for the items listed above for the international (non-UAE) countries FAB operates

• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in senior architecture roles within multinational financial institutions.
• Expertise in building or modernizing mobile banking applications.
• Good mix between infrastructure, security and application development.
• Expert knowledge in reliability, performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
• At least 5 years leading large-scale software projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in building high-performance, highly available and scalable distributed systems, preferably running on public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience architecting highly secure internet facing web services.
• AWS or Azure solutions architect certified.
• Expertise in at least one of the banking areas such as Retail, Corporate, Commercial Banking, Channels, Core Systems, Middleware, Control Functions (Compliance or Risk), Customer engagement layer or Payments.
