Job Description

Employment: Full Time Assistant Accountant is primarily responsible for all aspects of the procurement process, including assisting with obtaining bids, maintaining vendor relations, procurement record keeping, assisting MRC-NECC staff with all aspects of procurement, and other related tasks as deemed necessary by the Associate Director of Accounting.Obtain or assist with obtaining quotations and bids from suppliers according to MRC-NECC Procurement PolicyMaintain accurate records of all quotations and bids, including justification for selecting the winning bidderReview all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price optionsCreate and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliersNegotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contractsEnsure that the products and supplies are high qualityMaintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important dataEvaluate suppliers, products, and services, negotiate contracts, and ensure that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high qualityMaintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future developmentDevelop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies as appropriateWork with team members and Associate Director to complete duties as needed Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)Complete Reconciliation of Accounts, Breakdown of Expenses and VAT Return paperwork. REQUIREMENTS: REQUIREMENTS and Qualifications:Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systemsMinimum 2- 3 years accounting experience as a procurement officer or related positionAbility to analyze problems and strategize for better solutionsAbility to negotiate, establish, and administer contractsExcellent verbal and written communication skills (English language)Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyAccurate and precise attention to detailGoal-oriented, organized team playerGeneral Accounting experience
