Swimming Coach (AY 2022-23) - Al Muna Academy - (220000CJ)DescriptionAldar Academies is seeking a Swimming Coach for Al Muna Academy, Abu Dhabi commencing next academic year 2022-23.Al Muna Academy is in the heart of the city of Abu Dhabi and was recently rated Outstanding by ADEK - Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) Serving over 700 students from Nursery Year 6 we follow the National Curriculum of England. The school a vibrant community.This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and to help shape the future of Abu Dhabis leading school group.The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.JOB PURPOSE To be an exemplar swimming instructor, teaching students in the school to swim as an aim of promoting health and well-being. To ensure the safety of the children in and around the poolside in line with the NOP. To ensure all pupils and staff around the pool are aware and are well rehearsed in the EOP procedure. To promote swimming and healthy lifestyles including through the organisation and participation of galas, competitions, and health promotion events etc.RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching swimming to every class in the school. Managing the work of the swimming assistant and lifeguard. Ensuring the children are supervised at all times. Planning and delivering engaging lessons. Organising and participating in galas and other sports related activities, competitions and events. Liaising with class teachers and classroom assistants over the care and supervision of children- prior to, during and after lessons. Running extra-curricular provisions. To ensure that at all times a member of staff is watching the children in the water but not teaching a group. Managing and ensuring the health and safety of students in the pool in line with the schools and ADEKs health and safety protocols. To work within the Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Risk Assessment guidelines that is supplied by the school. To report any concerns about any areas of operation to SLT and Line Manager. Attending mandatory monthly training sessions to maintain knowledge, fitness and skills required to carry out your duties. Participate in meetings with the PE team to ensure teaching standards are met. To represent Aldar Education in a professional and positive manner at all times, adhering to company values. To support the PE department with day to day tasks and whole school events. • UAE approved Swimming Coach Certificate
• Certified First Aider

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar role as a swimming instructor and/or lifeguard..Job Specific Knowledge & Skills: Flexible in approach to work. Must be a proficient swimmer. CPR knowledge. Actively involved in co-curricular activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic proficiency desired. Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors. A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
