The Staff Nurse is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The Staff Nurse supports professional nursing practice across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The Staff Nurse will understand, support and promote the mission, vision and values of SSMC; provides age-appropriate patient care according to the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body. The Staff Nurse will adhere to and promote the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and UAE.Unit-Specific Job Roles? Demonstrates competence with the care and assessment of cardiac patients, including the prevention of complications.? Demonstrates knowledge on the medications indications, contra-indications, effect and side effects, i: e inotropic support, vasopressors and sedation and medications related to cardiac support.? Demonstrates knowledge and competence with the care and management of ventilated patients including the prevention of complications.? Demonstrates knowledge and competence with the care and management of patients requiring CRRT including the prevention of complications.? Demonstrates knowledge and competence of the prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) and is consistently compliant with VAP bundles.? Demonstrates knowledge and competence of the prevention of Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections (CLABSI) and is consistently compliant with CLABSI bundles.? Demonstrates knowledge and competence of the prevention of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) and is consistently compliant with CAUTI bundles.Educational Qualification:Required:Bachelor degree in nursing ORDegree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration) AND Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and AustraliaAND valid/current national license.AND BLSDesired:ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialtyExperience:Required:a.
