Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking to recruit a Site Contracts Specialist to be deployed within a client Project Management Team in PMC capacity to assist in the management of a large EPC project. Successful candidate must be able to perform the below details ;

  • Review EPC Contractors proposals for vendors and subcontractor
  • Review contract management and planning activities of the EPC Work Package with Engineering, Project Controls and Construction
  • Review and approve EPC Contractors RFPs / RFQs in accordance with contract
  • Ensure that goods and services procured by EPC Contractor meet local regulations and content requirements relative to scope of work, quality and schedule
  • Organize meetings with EPC Contractor, Company and authorities (as needed) for negotiating and resolving commercial, technical and contract completion issues
  • Handle effective and timely distribution of reports and pertinent commercial information to and from EPC Contractor in accordance with project instructions
  • Schedule turnover meetings with Site Personnel, where required
  • Check timesheets for contract conformance (rates, backup and extensions)
  • Review EPC Contractors invoices and prepare Progress Payment Certificates with Cost Control
  • Review EPC Contractors costs, forecasts and requests for extras
  • Issue for approval and post Substantial Performance documents
  • Issue Contract Close - Out documentation such as Contract Close - Out Change Order, Certificate of Final Completion and Waiver of Lien
  • Participate in contract cost review meetings and regular project progress and assist with preparation of monthly contracts and project progress reports
  • Carryout Technical Evaluation of Bids, Issue Bid Technical Clarifications, Technical Evaluation Reports and Recommendations
Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university, whilst a higher degree would also be beneficial
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering association would be highly preferred
  • A minimum of eigtheen years? experience in project management and execution of major and mega Oil and Gas projects, of which a minimum of ten years experience as an engineering manager or leadership roles with proven track record for major and mega Oil and Gas projects
  • Experienced as a contracts specialist in Major Onshore Brownfield Project Management Assignments
  • Experience in all aspects of contracts as related to typical projects undertaken by Wood including the use of computerized systems
  • With ability to interface with Companys contracts management personnel and contribute to the overall Project Management
  • Experienced in the implementation of industry best practices and Companys systems, processes and standards
  • Must have handled contracts or procurement activities related to major projects of value not less than US $500 million each
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment and analytical skills due to the complex and diversified nature of the position
  • Extensive skills in management and leadership, team building, effective communication, conflict resolution and presentations
