About the Opportunity: Robust infrastructure establishes the backbone of productive, economically strong communities as assets essential to commerce, trade, public safety and quality of life. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role preparing a wide range of cost estimates during the design phase of some of the largest and most iconic infrastructure developments in the region. You will actively review and understand key aspects of design documents, request for proposals, project and contract specifications, drawings, attend design development meetings and make site visits to define the scope of work and cost impacts required of the estimate process. We are looking for an experienced QS with experience in infrastructure, utilities and water projects who will help Jacobs develop and implement our exciting projects to our clients? expectations. Key areas include: * Ensuring the tender documents include but not limited to containing Project Drawings, Form of Tender with Appendices, Instruction to Tenderers, Condition of Contract, Specifications and Bills of Quantities including Preambles and any accompanying reports and contractual forms.* Responsible for developing project work breakdown structures, calculating take-offs and BOQs, rules of measurement, apply construction means and methods, assess schedules, calculate indirect field and owner?s costs* Deliver commercial contract management of all framework and construction contracts related to the assigned program of works* Supports the Program and Project teams manage compliance with Project Corporate Governance Procedures* Manage the cost reporting of all allocated projects, including Cost Forecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done, Gross Billing and Current Contract Value* Monitor, manage and report on all commercial and contract aspects of all allocated projects and propose mitigating actions* Review contractor delivery: including leading the valuation of contracts & attend all progress meetings to actively influence contractors commercial behaviours, delivery, and activity* Develop and discharge change control procedures* Review contractual claims reports, identify emerging problems, and recommend solutions for implementation* Undertake final account and internal reconciliation on all allocated projects to manage close within agreed timescales* Support pre and post contract procurement activities as and when required* Support the negotiation of all prices under existing contracts and fully participate in the associated Quantitative Risk Assessment and Value Management Workshops, as required * Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying. Chartered would be an added advantage * Experience and a high level of understanding of Engineering & Construction (E&C) industry practices in conducting estimating and BoQ production, RFP pricing document preparation, price negotiation and change & claims management * Experience in Water and Infrastructure Sectors * A minimum of 10 years? post qualification experience in related field. * Excellent effective written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent negotiation skills. * Contractually astute * Good understanding of the construction industry conditions of contract. * Experience in procurement and commercial management in a construction/ engineering environment. * A preference for having exposure to working in Middle East * Good interpersonal skills and ability to work at all organizational levels Jacobs.
