About the teamThe Product Design team is at the heart of helping the different teams identify the right problems to solve, and solve them in the right way with the aim of fulfilling Careem?s vision and ambitions, and to make sure we are always positioned to exceed customer expectations. In this role, you will apply your passion for people/customers, design, and business success to guide your team through the design cycles, mentor talented members of your team, and collaborate with leaders of other Design, Product, Engineering and Commercial teams to create innovative experiences across all of Careem?s products.What youll doAs a Product Design leader, you help define, influence and drive the future of Careem experiences.You will lead a team of Product Designers that are working on products that help Careem reach its SuperApp ambitions in our different markets and regions. You?ll help deliver an agenda that ensures our products and offerings are easy to use and value-add for our customers, with the highest level of care, craft and execution.What youll need

  • Build and manage a high-performing, talented and diverse team of product designers;
  • Independently manage your team?s or projects? day-to-day activities and complex situations;
  • Set clear expectations and goals for direct reports and collective team while holding individuals and team accountable for success;
  • Become a trusted, strategic partner to product stakeholders by communicating and demonstrating the value of Product Design, by delivering strategies that lead to solving people problems with demonstrable business value;
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and valuable products for our users, via their contribution to strategic decisions around the future direction of Careem?s SuperApp;
  • Proactively solicit and provide feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorship
  • Partner with the rest of the design leadership team on proper ways of working strategies to continuously better and evolve the multi-disciplinary craft of Product Design;
  • Prioritize, scope, and coordinate your team?s activities in line with business and user needs, ensuring innovation, standards on methodology, and excellent execution.
Where youll be
  • This role is part of a remote distributed team! This means you can be based in any of the countries where we currently have an engineering site. If you would like to join us in Dubai, Berlin, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon or Jordan, thats fine with us (Visa permitting)!
  • Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
  • You?ll be working in the location you?re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you?re hired from as your primary work location.
