Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking for a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team in the UAE on a 12 months contract

  • The Senior Piping Engineer is primarily engaged in the design, preparation of specification, data sheets and analysis of piping engineering requirements on a project. Support on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
  • Planning and supporting on mechanical engineering design for field piping requirements, preparation of basic design, data sheets, Specifications, support on design deliverables, FEED and detailed design of the piping part of the project
  • Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
  • Co-ordination with Project and client
  • Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Piping engineering design
  • Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers and Discipline Heads
  • Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology, and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications;
  • Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
  • As Senior Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers, designers, and delivering the engineering requirements of the project
Skills / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10+ years engineering experience in oil and gas field including onshore facilities for piping and valves.
  • Degree level qualification in Mechanical / Piping Engineering.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience of piping discipline relevant onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications and practices.
  • Good knowledge of various valve design & code requirements such as API 6D, ASME B16.34, etc.
  • Good knowledge of various Material used in Oil & gas industry & familiar with ASTM & NACE standard requirements.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience on preparation of Piping Specification & Datasheets for valves and piping speciality item.
