Key Responsibilities:-Evaluate medical histories, clinical reports, and insurance applications to assess risk and determine eligibility.-Make accurate, well-reasoned underwriting decisions in line with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.-Handle complex and high-value cases, providing guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.-Collaborate effectively with brokers, agents, and internal teams to clarify medical information and ensure smooth application processing.-Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of underwriting decisions and rationale.-Stay current on emerging medical trends, underwriting practices, and changes in insurance regulations.-Contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines and processes.Qualifications:-Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.Professional underwriting certification (e.g., ACII, AMII) preferred.-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical underwriting within life or health insurance.-Proven experience handling complex cases with strong risk assessment skills.Skills:-Deep knowledge of medical terminology, clinical conditions, and risk evaluation.-Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.-Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, brokers, and internal teams.-Proficiency in underwriting systems and Microsoft Office.-Ability to work independently while mentoring and guiding junior team members.
