Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static Equipment) to join our team in the UAE on a 6 months contract

  • Review of Mechanical Equipment Specifications and updating the Specifications in line with latest international design codes
  • Prepare and check equipment specifications and datasheets
  • Preparation of mechanical design documentation for tendering and procurement
  • Package management including review and approval of vendor documents
  • Defining equipment test requirements and review of test procedures
  • Preparation of mechanical design documentation for tendering and procurement
  • Package management and review of vendor document review
Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institute (or equivalent)
  • Min. 15 years of relevant experience in the design, specification, testing, installation and commissioning of the following equipment: Pressure Vessels, Air Cooler, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
  • Fully conversant with international design codes for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and storage tanks
  • Proficient in static equipment design software for mechanical design
  • Experience in defining equipment test requirements and review of test procedures
  • Should be pragmatic, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
  • Able to present and write technical reports in fluent English.
  • Expected to take ownership of issues and follow them through to completion.
  • Willingness to interact directly with people.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in an organised and structured fashion, and within time constraints.
