Job Description

As a Financial Accountant, you will be relied upon to monitor and improve all regulatory and control environments within the company.   • Remain up to date with changes in the regulatory environment ? being IFRS, FTA etc.
  • Ability to apply these changes to the current business operations and advise on and analyze the impact of any required changes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Identify potential control weaknesses and propose solutions to these deficiencies.
  • Work with various business stakeholders to understand the business and stay up to date with their operational activities. Ensure all recommendations consider business operations so your proposals work succinctly with business needs.
  • Present ideas and analysis to management and the CFO on a regular basis.
  • Project manage approved changes from your proposals to management. This will involve working with teams both internal and external to Finance.
  • You will review all accounting policies and standardize these across the region, in line with the relevant IFRS requirements.
  • Stay close to the changes in FTA requirements and translate these to show the business the impact of these changes. You will review the FTA submissions to ensure these changes are being encompassed.
  • Work closely with all external auditors.
  • Draft accounting memos, hold technical discussions with statutory and group auditors and review the financial statements during the company?s financial audits.
  • Work closely with the day-to-day transactions to submit monthly accounts to the group entity.
  • Understand the major transactions to advise the group team on any questions they may have from the group submission.
  • Perform a review of all FTA required documents and compile them in advance of any potential FTA audits.
  • Work in an advisory capacity with the other entities in the region to ensure they are aligned to the same policies and procedures as the UAE.
  • Perform periodic training sessions for other stakeholders to keep them up to date on relevant regulatory information. It?s important that you can present to various target markets and translate complex topics into real world explanations for them to understand.
  • Work closely with any finance transformation projects and advise the team on potential financial impacts of their proposed changes.
  • Work closely with the other entities in the MENA region to review their compliance environment, and act as a consultant to advise how they can best improve
  • Develop and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships.
  • Actively seeking areas for improvement and driving the change.
