Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAEThe role of the Electrical Designer is to carry out day to day Electrical engineering and design activities in an assigned project. The Designer reports functionally to the Department Manager and operationally to one or more Lead Engineers / Lead Designer. The understanding of the technical requirements of the project, standards are crucial.

  • Carry out assigned electrical design work as part of a multi-discipline project team
  • Will be required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations
  • To provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project?s, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements
  • To provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering and construction
  • Preparation and checking of all types of electrical design deliverables such as PFD?s, P&ID?s and Safeguarding Diagrams
  • Review of vendor drawings for Equipment / Package items.
  • Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD
  • To assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline
  • To promote safe behaviour at all times
  • Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
  • As Senior Designer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the designers and delivering the engineering requirements of the project
Skills / Qualifications
  • Overall 12+ years of experience, out of which 7-8 years must be in the Oil and Gas sector
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of design tools ? AutoCAD,
  • Relevent Modeling software experience
  • Ability to organize and set priorities
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively
  • Ability to report in in English, both verbal & in writing.
  • Proactive attitude
