It provides data accessibility at scale and manages the business intelligence solutions for all the teams at Careem under Mobility of People, Mobility of Things, Careem Pay and the region?s first super app.Our team works very closely with product, data science, analytics, and engineering teams. We require strong product sense to understand the performance metrics and how data will enable them and to build an effective strategy. In addition to that we require technical vision to implement that strategy efficiently.What youll do:We are looking for a senior people manager to join our Data Warehouse and lead the DWH team. This role will bring a high impact to Careem?s data platform extending to multiple systems.

• You are a people leader who can provide guidance to engineers who work on tough technical matters and designs impacting all the domains under Careem.
• You will contribute to engineering capability in Careems DWH platform on every level, actively seeking out new ways and tools to improve.
• You will oversee the technical vision and influence the Data platform roadmap. You will drive the discussions around engineering deliverables, testing strategy, process and acceptance criteria for the data warehouse team.
• You will raise the bar for the quality of the code, participate in establishing code principles and guidelines. Furthermore you will be coaching and advising teammates on the selection of methodologies, tools and technologies.
• You will engage with Uber and build perspective on Build Vs Buy Vs Adopt strategies. Moreover you will work with stakeholders at a senior level on technical and commercial issues as our team supports and enables Careem?s strategy.

What youll need:You have minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering of which 4 years in leading the architecture and technical vision of scalable data platforms. We expect this position to be able to carry all the responsibilities above so relevant work experience is essential.You should demonstrate strong experience in designing, operating and scaling systems.In addition to that you need to be able to work on the cost of your design and provide the engineering rationale of making your choices.

• 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager or team lead.
• 8+ years of overall technical experience.
• Experience in traditional DWH + big data technologies

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in Python and Spark
• Data accessibility and security
• Data governance
• Metadata management
• Data Testing
• Experience in AWS solutions is preferred.
