If youre a creative problem solver who is proficient with distributed systems design and hungry for a new adventure, an international workplace is waiting for you in the heart of Riyadh!The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and BI developers on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company?s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.Mission

• Be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.
• The applications you own are part of an ecosystem of solutions for our customers, partners and staff. You will work with a tech stack running 24/7. Fortunately, you will come to a stable environment, but it?s something we all actively take care of.
• We are heavily invested in automation and continuous integration and it has become a cornerstone of all of our processes.

Skills

• Engineering excellence - a proven track record of substantially impacting the development of complex distributed data pipelines and databases.
• Focus on Goals/Delivery - ability to internalize our long/medium term vision and motivate a team to work towards our goals.
• Execution - ?getting things done? mentality. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, with high prioritization skills and experience with versioning tools.
• Experience - 6+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Education - at least a Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
• You have experience with the following platforms/tools/languages:

• Any of the object oriented languages like: Java, Python, Scala, etc. (with focus on distributed systems)
• Big data ecosystem & tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kafka-Connect, Presto, etc.
• Relational databases like Postgres, Mysql, Redshift, etc (advanced SQL writing and optimization skills are required)
• Cloud Platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes/Dockers
• Cloud Data Warehouses like AWS Redshift or Google Bigquery
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting

• You are a pragmatic programmer who understands what is needed to get things done.
• You are fluent in English.
