The School Counselor supports students in their academic, personal, emotional, and social development. The role involves counseling sessions, guidance programs, crisis intervention, and collaboration with teachers and parents to create a safe and supportive school environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and social issuesIdentify students facing difficulties and intervene with appropriate support or referralsAssist students with goal setting, time management, and study skillsSupport student behavior management and conflict resolutionDevelop and deliver guidance programs focused on mental health, peer relationships, and career awarenessCollaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to monitor student progress and well-beingPromote a positive school climate through wellness initiatives and emotional learning programsMaintain confidential records of counseling sessions and student issuesRespond to student crises and provide immediate support or referrals to specialistsOrganize awareness sessions, workshops, or training for staff, students, and parentsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related fieldCertified School Counselor license or equivalent (depending on country/school)2+ years of experience in a school or child-focused settingTraining in child development, mental health, or crisis intervention is a plus
