Safety Reliability Engineer

About this role:

• Must have thorough understanding and experience of how the hazard analysis and safety evaluation processes integrate with the system engineering process
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team, you lead the system safety and reliability activities, derive the relevant system design integrity objectives, and verify that the design implementation meets the required safety and reliability objectives
• Management and performing system safety assessments for Oil & Gas/Energy industry, including functional hazard analysis (FHA), common cause analysis (CCA) and fault-tree analysis (FTA)
• Establishes Reliability requirements for systems, subsystems, components & assemblies Generate and review common cause analyses such as particular risk analyses and common mode analyses for system
• Conducts & lead in HAZID, HAZOPs, LOPAs, ALARP and SIMOPs studies and other risk assessment studies, Reviews and signs off technical documentation
• Performing system reliability assessments, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
• Performs statistical analysis utilizing historical failure data, applying reliability engineering tolls and provides assessment report of asset safety & reliability, including improvement actions
• Implement effective process safety processes and procedures, provide interpretation, technical support, and advice as required on process safety matters to operations and maintenance facility team
• Lead technical safety studies (Quantitative Risk Assessment-QRA, Emergency Evacuation Rescue Analysis-EERA, etc) for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities, or for other major hazard industries
• Provide oversight and facilitate life-cycle assessments of process safety critical equipment across oil & gas facilities, provide assurance and periodic review of management of change (MOC) practices, participate in MOCs as process safety expert, and provide recommendations for improving MOC conformance
• Participate in development of operation & maintenance strategies to assure Safety/Reliability requirements are met Ability to deliver supporting information (Safety Case Reports, Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FMECA, reliability prediction, etc
• Supports the Line Manager in management of Company contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management

• Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations
• Demonstrated expertise on how to prepare and present technical information to peers, to all levels of internal management, and to external customers
• Demonstrated expertise on how to coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedule
• Assist with any other duties as and when required
• Undertake specific projects as instructed by management
• Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
• Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

• University Degree in Electronics & Instrumentation/Instrumentation & control/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Professional experience in functional safety and reliability analysis
• Ability to link theoretical analysis results to practical design decisions
• Minimum (12-14) years of relevant experience in relation to the job description
• Prepare system safety documentation, reports on safety & reliability program for customers
• Performs analyses for safety, reliability, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure project success
• Experienced and knowledge on Safety Assessments including Fire and Explosion Analysis, Hazardous area classification, Safety Management Systems Safety critical system identification and performance standard review/development, Safety Cases, COMAH compliance with upstream, downstream and LNG experience
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in reliability & safety with operating companies within Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Refinery, Power Industries
• Track record as an effective teammate with strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary / multi-national team
• Discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking Tries different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities
• Effective communication skill and stakeholder management is a necessary skill for the job.
