The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role involves preparing cost plans, tendering, procurement, contract administration, and cost control to ensure the project is completed within its projected budget.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning.Prepare tender documents, analyze tenders, and recommend the award of contracts.Negotiate contracts and manage contractual agreements.Monitor project progress and expenditures to ensure costs are controlled.Value completed work and oversee payments to contractors and suppliers.Manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes.Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications.Maintain accurate records of all costs and contractual documentation.Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project success.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role.Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and legal requirements.Proficiency in MS Office, CostX, AutoCAD, or other relevant software.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
