Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare & Implement the Project Quality Plan, Quality Control Procedures and ITPs. Expedite the review and approval of these documents with Client.
  2. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance
  3. Review corrective actions recommended in non-conformance reports, initiate and verify corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformity.
  4. Initiate, record or provide solutions for quality problems
  5. Ensure site personnel follow the Quality Assurance system and assist in training of site personnel in the QA/QC system
  6. Development of inspection and test plans (ITP?s), checklists and reporting formats. Maintaining them during the course of the project. Ensure that all inspections and tests are carried out as indicated on the appropriate Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
  7. Ensure that all inspections and tests are recorded on the appropriate form or checklist, as indicated on the relevant ITP, and that all documentation is filed in a safe and secure manner.
  8. Ensure that all Inspection Requests are submitted as required and liaise with Client staff regarding timings of such inspections.
  9. Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Discrepancy Report (DR), when activities deviate from the Contract Specifications or normal Construction industry practices
  10. Co-ordinate with the Site / Independent Testing Laboratory / Third Party Inspection and project Construction in conducting tests and to document and submit them for Client?s approval
  11. Liaise with Client staff regarding any non-compliances, complaints or areas of concern to ensure that these are handled in a timely and effective manner.
  12. Supervise all inspectors and QC staff and involve in Inspection activities as required for effective quality control of project activities.
  13. Comply with all safety instructions and standing instructions.
  14. Carry out other duties excluding construction / supervision tasks as required by Project Management and Project/Site QA /QC Manager or Senior QA/QC Engineer.
Education Qualification, Work Experience & Skills:
  • Qualifications: Bachelors Degree/ Three-year Diploma in a Mechanical Engineering, with appropriate QA/QC qualifications
  • Certified Welding Inspector (AWS/CSWIP) /NDT level II
  • IRCA approved ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification desirable
  • Must be computer literate able to work under pressure and within set guidelines and should have excellent report writing abilities.
  • Experience: Minimum Experience of at least 4 years in Quality Control of construction work of Steel fabrication, Heavy Industrial, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas Projects covering a broad range of activities.
  • Skills: Should have knowledge of materials used in steel fabrication, welding, painting and architectural work. Should be well versed with workmanship standards and inspection techniques
